Rath
Rath is standalone SF/F novel, but also ties into the “Rider” series. When we meet Rath, he is a young man at a crossroads. He’s living in self-imposed exile at the edges of a community of riders on a world called Karemir. Rath, himself, is a rider — one of those rare beings who are able to travel the universe, jumping from one dimension to another, from a portal in one world out into another world in an entirely different galaxy. Riders like Rath are able to feel a different kind of energy as it leaks from pinholes in the fabric of existence, and to surf the infinite web of cracks in the universe.
On Karemir, Rath avoids almost everyone. Except for Korli. She is also a rider, and is an apprentice at the Tass academy — located in the heart of the community of riders Rath is trying hard to avoid. Rath’s connection to Korli is intense, and may provide the best path to the redemption he so desperately seeks.
When Korli’s first mission for Tass goes radically wrong, Rath has little choice but to get dragged back into the world he’s trying to leave behind.
